about
I wrote this song in an NYC tunnel, the melody came to me from above. Was complete in two days. I desperately wanted to forgive my father, and accept him for exactly who he was/is- For my freedom and for ours. This song allowed me to do that.
lyrics
I found a way to go on
My own road
And I
In the house I was born
I learned how to love
And I
Went back I did I
To the bedroom I learned how to sing
And I
Finally rested and put my worry not on Him on him and I said on
Him no
Looking in his eyes I find
A man not blind
And I
Seen them all my life
But now I finally see a man
Who can love
A man who can love
And I said
A man who can love
And I said
It’s true yeah
Daddy daddy daddy daddy daddy daddy Daddy I
Forgive you and I thank you
And I
Ay yai yai yai ay yai yai yai ay yai yai yai yai yai
The relation between him and mom is a
very different one and I
Know now that it’s not my to sing
I can only give out my light
I can only give out my light
I can only give out my light
And I said its true ooh yeah
Daddy daddy daddy daddy daddy daddy Daddy I
Forgive you and I thank you
And I
Ay yai yai yai ay yai yai yai ay yai yai yai yai yai
Daddy I love you
Daddy it’s true
Daddy where were you when
Everything was blue when
You hid in the corner of the shadows
And the shadows got even louder
You said jump right back in the ocean
But I didn’t even know him
He said jump right back in the ocean
And I didn’t even know him
And he said
And you said
Daddy daddy daddy daddy daddy daddy daddy I
Forgive you and I thank you
And i
Ay yai yai yai ay yai yai yai ay yai yai yai yai yai
